Can Art Inspire Good? (Part One)

As I walk through the halls at the church I attend, I see paintings and prints of Jesus Christ and other characters of the Bible and Book of Mormon. In one, Jesus is lifting the sick and afflicted to their feet. In another, Moroni is rallying the Nephites to fight against evil. All of these paintings carry the spirit of the story they tell and share that with others in order to edify them. In fact, this doesn't just apply to Latter-Day Saint art, but to the art of many other denominations. Catholic cathedrals inspire prayer and educate the masses about biblical events. Islamic mosque's command obedience to the laws of God with the writings on the wall. Hindu temples tell the stories of their gods and speak of how to live with morals. Although art may not force someone to do good, they serve as instruments to help others catch the wave and learn to do good.
